Clients & Projects

Compliance with mission requirements is critical to a project’s success. Our specialized experience in military and government design and specifications provides innovative strategies and solutions for successful project delivery and reduces overall cost and schedule risk to our customers.

U.S. Air Force Distributed Ground Station (DGS)-2 Intelligence Operations Facility, Beale AFB, California

Allowing our clients to make critical design decisions in real-time, we used 3D-modeling during the design phase of this 94,000-SF classified-information facility. The raised access floor systems, zoned interstitial areas, demountable partitions, and a modular approach to building design allow reconfiguration ease and is another cost-effective adaptation to support various missions concurrently.

Air National Guard Readiness Center Expansion, Andrews AFB, Maryland

Helping our clients achieve the most in sustainable design, the 170,000-SF facility incorporates more than 30 sustainability principles including a vegetative green roof and raised flooring under-floor communications and electrical systems with plug-and-play modular cabling systems to accommodate future growth.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Alaska District, C-17 Globemaster III Beddown, Hindan Air Force Station

Creating first-of-its kind facilities to accommodate ten C-17 aircraft in India, we effectively synthesized U.S. and host-country quality standards while meeting technology requirements. From initial site survey, to master planning, to developing design-build RFPs for India contractors, the project was executed successfully under a foreign military sales agreement.

Headquarters, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Consolidation, Scott AFB, Illinois

Advanced facilities have unique requirements and our design teams are skilled at integrating multiple mission requirements.  At this 180,000- SF secure administrative and operations headquarters  facility, we consolidated the operational requirements and standards of 27 Army, Air Force, Navy and other DoD user groups. The end result is operators can effectively coordinate the deployment of troops, equipment and materials worldwide.

The design process was educational to us as building owners. The ‘on sight’ visits and involvement you and your design team provided convinced me not only as a maintainer but also as a taxpayer that this was money well spent. My sincere appreciation and gratitude go out to you and the professionals at CH2M for the help, and guidance that you provided.

Master Planning, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar

As author of the original Al Udeid Air Base Master Plan, CH2M has been selected to continuously update it over the past 10 years. Our planning experience combined with the support of architectural and engineering expertise within the firm led to multiple companion plans, including Area Development Plans, Utility Studies, and a Traffic Study that was successfully synchronized with the Master Plan.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Millennial Challenge Corporation, Power Distribution Feasibility Studies, Ghana

Helping progress power service and reduce electricity loss in developing countries and improve quality of life.  CH2M conducted feasibility studies for power distribution throughout Ghana identifying economic and financial impacts on Ghanian economy.

DLA Bremerton

Enterprise-wide Area Development Plans, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)

CH2M produced the first enterprise-wide area development plans for 21 sites with 14.2 million square feet of DLA facility space on U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps installations. As facilitators of a collaborative process involving stakeholders, DLA Headquarters and host installation planners, CH2M planners identified $1.84 billion in facility requirements that can now be integrated with the host master plans.

Readiness Center

Statewide Planning for Readiness Centers, New York, Tennessee and Mississippi

Our team developed the statewide planning for all Readiness Centers (RCs), commonly called armories, for NY, TN, and MS, beginning with a visioning session and culminating in a capital improvements plan for 7.5 million square feet of facility space in 213 locations. The scope of work included complex analysis of all the sites and statewide demographics leading to a 19 percent reduction in RCs, while supporting facility requirements for retention, recruitment and mission execution.

Program Management

We provide an all-encompassing program management approach that takes ownership of the overall project so our clients can make the best informed decisions.  Our comprehensive cost and schedule software, ability to identify up-front risk, and assign subject matter experts to tackle any challenge, are just a few of the management tools that drive our program management success.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Far East District, U.S. Forces Korea Base Relocation Program

Building the equivalent of a medium-sized city from the ground up on land that was formerly rice paddies, this program is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s largest construction project since the Panama Canal was completed in 1914. A strong program management team keeps the momentum going towards a 2016 completion date.

Air National Guard, 176th Wing Relocation, Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska

To meet strict government funding and schedule requirements, 17 facility and infrastructure projects were required to be designed to support operations and maintenance of C-130, HC-130, and HH-60 aircraft as well as other mission activities. CH2M produced 14 concurrent designs before fiscal year end to initiate construction before harsh winter conditions.

CH2M has provided the Air National Guard with exceptional service in both the design and program management areas. Their personnel… exemplify professionalism and have been key factors to the success of the program. CH2M has also provided a wealth of technical expertise, which allowed several critical issues to be resolved quickly and minimized costs to the program. CH2M is a true partner with the Air National Guard in the effort to complete the 126 ARW program on time and within budget.
