Protecting nearly 1.3 million people and £275 billion worth of property is just the type of opportunity Program Director, Matt Kuhn can’t pass up. And it’s exactly what the program he directs—the Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100 (TEAM2100) program – is doing along the River Thames and its tributaries in central London.
Matt anchors the TEAM2100 team’s efforts, working with more than 100 integrated teammates and closely with our client, The Environment Agency. TEAM2100 is the Agency’s largest flood-risk management program and focusing on identifying and adopting new ways to manage flood defenses more efficiently and effectively. In fact, the team developed and applied 127 innovations during the last two years alone!

Throughout his more than two decades of experience on flood risk and resilience projects, Matt’s had many opportunities to shape how our clients are responding to the increasing threat of climate adaptation and more extreme weather events, and has earned a reputation, both at CH2M and with our clients, as one of the most-sought project managers for water infrastructure projects.
Matt reflects, “Water resilience is about more than suggesting sea walls, higher levees, bigger tunnels and more reservoirs as solutions. At CH2M, we’re applying our integrated risk-based planning process up and down the world’s coasts to quantify risks and understand the asset vulnerabilities in a system context so our clients can make necessary improvements for future-proof protection.”
