Deepwater Container Terminal 2 Expansion
Expanding DCT Gdansk’s deepwater container terminal to maintain the region's competitive advantage.
As Director of Ports and Maritime for our European region, John’s primary role is to forge new client relationships and maintain strong relationships with our existing clients.
Our ports team has continually expanded to many countries across the globe and recently started work in Poland. Thanks to John’s entrepreneurial personality, DCT Gdansk gave us the opportunity to present our capabilities and bid for an exciting project, beginning our adventure with this client.
John turns challenge into opportunity by involving the right mix of global teammates to adapt to the working culture in Poland as well as meet the stringent requirements related to European Union funds. John commented,
We rely on the Polish team, who is critical to our success, to guide us through how to deliver this project in accordance with local procedures. By working in collaboration with the ports experts in the U.K., the client receives exactly what we promised – a mixture of our global ports expertise and the local knowledge that comes from our talented team in-country.
The global nature of our industry, with projects across the world, makes John’s career more exciting. But he admits that during his 12 years with CH2M the thing that stands out as unique to our company is the collaborative and supportive nature of colleagues across the world. “Being one of the top companies, we have very smart people on board and working with them is a real pleasure. Everyone you ever reach out to really wants to help, whatever part of the world you are in.”
