We can help you identify candidate sites and furnish the screening services and resource evaluations for your power plant projects. We understand the importance of starting with the proper site based on rail, water, and transmission access. Environmental and land use issues–such as distance to Class I areas, the presence of sensitive ecological areas, and local residential and commercial development–are all key factors that must be considered in a successful site selection study.
We have conducted numerous feasibility studies for power plant projects that have evaluated environmental and regulatory requirements; availability of rail, transmission, and water for condenser cooling; and the overall cost of development. For property owners and sellers—CH2M HILL assists in positioning clients' properties for sale or transfer with or without remediation liabilities. We can also assist in the selling of property as-is. Clients' corporate asset value can often be increased by the sale of a property if the value, as properly marketed for optimum land use, exceeds the cost of eliminating the remediation liability. The sale or transfer of the property and the elimination of the remediation corporate liability improves the corporate balance sheet.
For property buyers and redevelopers—CH2M HILL assists in matching sellers to buyers. We then assist the buyer in developing the property, including elimination of the remediation liability. CH2M HILL's involvement assures the buyer and seller that the remediation will be done in a high quality manner, consistent with development plans, and that the liability will not return to the seller.
