Engineers Without Borders-USA
Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit organization helping build sustainable infrastructure and improve the lives of people in developing communities around the world, while training future engineers to be socially responsible and culturally aware. It also is one of the fastest growing engineering professional societies with more than 12,000 members working on 300 projects around the world. EWB-USA is comprised of both student and professional chapters.
CH2M HILL has supported EWB-USA since 2003 and supports EWB-USA as one of our four Community Partners programs because of common values and a shared commitment to:
- Deliver sustainable engineering solutions
- Inspire and mentor a future engineering and construction workforce
- Give back to the global community
- Use engineering principles and technologies to improve quality of life
As a founding sponsor of EWB-USA, we take an integrated approach in our partnership by providing financial, in-kind, and leadership support. More than 80 CH2M HILL employees volunteer with local student and professional chapters and participate in CH2M HILL's internal EWB-USA community of practice, which provides a forum to share ideas and lessons learned on projects. These individuals contribute countless hours to help grow the EWB-USA organization, mentor students, serve as public speakers and ambassadors, and bring sustainable engineering projects to life in countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Mali, and Rwanda.
Engineers Without Borders-USA is proud to be an ongoing partner with the CH2M HILL organization and its professionals. The talent exhibited by its people in assisting us in our many endeavors is priceless. We will continue to encourage 'new generations' of humanitarian engineers to follow CH2M HILL's lead in making this a better world.
