Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
As a reflection of our culture and a statement of our commitment to human well-being, safety is more than a program at CH2M HILL. Organizationally, it is integrated into our focus on Health, Safety, Environment & Quality, a far-reaching initiative that encompasses employee behavior in the workplace, on the jobsite, and at home. Practically, safety is continually reinforced with basic training for every employee and an online resource for education, information, reference, and metrics.
On the jobsite, just like everywhere else, we believe that all incidents are preventable, and we are committed to making this belief reality. We develop project-specific safety plans integrating our program with our clients' policies and procedures to achieve or surpass their goals. We hold ourselves accountable for implementing those plans and defining shared expectations with all subcontractors. Pre-task safety planning, safe behavior observations, and regular monitoring and reporting are all routine procedures.
The outcome of our safety performance has earned us the highest recognition for safety: four OSHA Voluntary Protection Plan Star awards in the last five years. But the real benefit is sending employees home from work every day as well as they arrived.
